JAMB To Commence Sales of 2018 UTME Forms, Bans Pens & Watches During Exams

An update from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), who are the organisers of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), states that the sales of the registration document for the 2018 UTME would commence before the end of November.

However, the use of wrist watches and pens during the Post UTME  has banned and will effect from 2018 (PUTME).

This was disclosed by the board’s Registrar, Prof. Is’haq Oloyede to newsmen on the sideline of the sensitisation workshop organised for Computer Based Test (CBT) centre owners on Wednesday in Lagos.

Based on his words, the workshop was to appraise the registration and conduct of the 2017 examination. He also added that the use of detection device have been addopted to reduce malpractice.

Mr Oloyede advised that candidates should download the UTME app, go to Jamb website and download the syllabus and brochure also, students should study the process as this will help to reduce errors that is encountered durring the registration process.

About 60 centres are under consideration as their applications are still waiting for approval. No fewer than 617 centres have been accredited nationwide for the exercise and 72 centres nationwide have been delisted earlier because of malpractice involvement added the Jamb Boss.

Exam center owners were beaconed to fight against any anti-examination activities.

Based on his words, monitoring shoulder starts once the centre owners arrive to the workshop.

He also said that during the 2018 UTME examination, the board would introduce the use of some other equipments and requirements for CBT centres.
