JAMB UTME Exam Date & Schedule for 2018 CBT Candidates

The 2018 Computer Based Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination date, has been announced by the management of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.

According to the board, the 2018 Computer Based Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination will begin on Friday, March 9th, 2018 and end on Saturday, March 17th, 2018.

The examination venue will be at any approved Computer Based Test Centre within the chosen examination town. All candidates should visit the examination venue 30 minutes before the exam begins.

FUTA Matriculation Ceremony, 2017/2018 Postponed.

The Matriculation Ceremony of all newly admitted students of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) for the 2017/2018 Academic Session has been postponed by the University's management.

However, a new date will be announced later for the ceremony.

MAUTECH Shut Down Over Students Protest

After an emergency meeting of the Senate of Modibbo Adama University of Technology Yola, which took place on Monday, all student has been ordered to vacate the campus to effect a temporary shutdown of the institution because to students protest on Sunday.

The protest which resulted to the life of a student was reported to have been caused by the Student Union Government leadership tussle. However unconfirmed sources has it that the violence is a fall out of an alleged blasphemy of Prophet Muhammad on WhatsApp.

The school management is yet to confirm or deny the cause of the crisis.

At the moment, Security personnel including DSS, police, and civil defence corps have been drafted to maintain vigilance in conjunction with the internal security apparatus of the university.

JAMB Registration For 2018 UTME Extended

The closing date for the registration and the purchase of form for the Direct Entry and 2018 UTME, has been extended untill Sunday 11th February, by 12 midnight.

JAMB Head of Information announced this decision on Tuesday after a meeting in Abuja.

All candidates are advised to register within the given period as the board warns that there will be no further extension.

JAMB also added that such culture of late registration by candidates, and extensions every year has to be curtailed, and the board may impose a fine for late registrations in future.

ABSU Notice To All Students On 2017/2018 Registration

Abia State University Senate held its 223rd regular meeting on 31st January, 2018. The meeting resulted to a remainder to all undergraduate students of the University that "Normal registration period shall not exceed four weeks from the date of commencement of lectures” as stated in the Revised Academic Regulation 2016, Chapter 3(1).

Currently, many students have not registered but lectures for first semester 2017/2018 academic have already started on Monday, 30th October, 2017.

The senate have approved an additional two weeks which starts from 31st January to 12th February, 2018, have been given to all students both new and old to register their courses for the first semester, 2017/2018 academic session.

Students who fails to  register within the given period will pay for late registration fee and non-admission into the examination halls for the upcoming 2017/2018 first Semester examination.

5. Go to the College Admissions Unit with  your originals of the following documents:  Passport Photograph, O’Levels, Birth Certificate, JAMB Result Slip, Acknowledgement Slip, Evidence of Payment of Acceptance Fee and All printed screening documents, LGA Identification.

6. Open your files with the screening officers.

Mode of Delivery and Duration of the Part-Time Degree Programmes

The programmes are to be run on part-time basis. Courses will be taught through normal lectures and practical classes to be conducted in the evenings and over the weekends at the Bayero University’s School of Continuing Education (SCE) situated on Aminu Kano Way, near Gwauron Dutse Hill within Kano City. The programmes will not be run through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode.

Admission will only be done through Direct Entry (Level 200). The duration of the programme is five years.

Admission Requirement for the Part-Time Degree Programmes

Applicants must satisfy the following conditions For Admission into the University's Programms:

  1. Possess recognized Advanced Level qualifications in areas relevant to the programmes. Such qualifications include National Diploma (ND), Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE), Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) certificate - (with minimum of 6 points), Nursing Certificate, and General Certificate of Education (GCE) ‘A’ Level;
  2. Possess a minimum of three ‘O’ Level credits in relevant subjects, including English Language;
  3. Must be at least 25 years old.
  4. In addition, applicants for admission into BSc Accounting, BSc Business Administration, BSc Mathematics, and BSc (Ed) Mathematics must also have credit in ‘O’ Level Mathematics; while candidates for B. Nursing Science must have credits in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  5. Candidates with only `O' level qualifications will not be considered.

Application Procedure

Goto http://mybuk.buk.edu.ng/sceforms2018/ Click on the Register Tab on the left navigation panel to go to the Create an Account Page.

(Create Account) At the Create an Account page, create an account by providing your First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Personal Email and Personal GSM Phone Number and choose your password and clicking on the Create Account button. A username will automatically be generated for you, please take note of the username and password as you need them for subsequent steps of the application process. Please also take not of the Email and GSM Number you supplied during creating the account, as they are used with together with the username to recover forgotten password.

  1. (Log In) Return to the Login Page and login with your username and password to fill in the various sections of your application process.

  2.(Programme Selection) Choose the programme you are applying for.

  3. (Update Profile) Provide personal, sponsorship and next-of-kin information.

  4. (O/A Levels Qualifications) Provide/Update your O/A levels qualifications, O levels not more than 2 sittings and A levels not more than 3 settings.

  5. (Schools & Qualifications) Provide the schools/colleges attended as well as the academic qualifications obtains, you can provide a maximum of 3 (three) schools/colleges and maximum of 3 (three) academic qualifications.

  6. (Employment Info) Indicate whether employed or not. If employed, provide your current employment information – Employer, Position and Date of Appointment.

  7. (Additional Info) Provide additional information, which include maximum of 3 researches and maximum of 3 publications.

  8. (BUK Personalised Payment Form (BUKPPF)) Generate your BUK Personalised Payment Form (BUKPPF). The BUKPPF includes information need to make payment through the Remita e-Payments platform. Refer to the Payment Procedure documentation for an in-depth look on the payment procedure.

  9. (Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) Used) After successfully generated BUKPPF and using the Remita e-Payments platform (www.remita.net) a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) number is generated for you. The RRR uniquely ties your payment to your application account, after obtaining your RRR login to your application account and submit the RRR used for payment. Note that submitting the RRR in the application portal is not tied to your actual payment.

  10. (Acknowledgment/Application Form) After your payment is verified, you can print your acknowledgment/application form. Note that only those that have printed the application form are considered for admission. Keep your application form safe, the form will be needed during the collection of admission letters and during registration.

Please note that:

  • You must complete steps 1 through Step 10 before making payment. 
  • Your Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) number is very important. You must make sure you quote it correctly whenever and wherever your are using it. 
  • Please allow 24 to 48 hours for payment validation and processing.
